Easter 2012

I have never done a table decoration for Easter before. Always for Christmas, the beginning of Spring and Autumn etc.
I saw these white rabbits and couldn't resist them.

The white cloth came from the Cornubia garage sale and the white pot was $5 on a throw out table from 3 years ago. I bought the pot of flowers for the Autumn colourings.

A great idea

I attended a lovely 'baby shower' lunch at Harvey's on James Street. I do not like baby showers with silly games etc. and only went to this one as I was promised a good lunch fabulous company and no games.

That is exactly how it was. A lovely Sunday afternoon. The hostess' sister who couldn't be there organized a little treat for each place setting.

I found out they they were made by a young Mother with small children and this is the business she started to be able to stay home with her children.
Excellent Rocky Road
I think that this is a wonderful idea especially when it was made with such care.

Potato Pizza

Potato pizza is one of my favourite friday night meals. I can always find a potato, I always have roti, lebanese bread, or tortilla's (yes I have used all of these for a base) in my freezer. There is always garlic, oil, salt and fresh rosemary from the garden, parmesan and or feta cheese.

I slice the potato very finely on the mandolin, lay it out in a single layer on a dinner plate and microwave for 2 minutes. Put it straight on the base, cover with crushed garlic, finely chopped rosemary salt, pepper. cheese (s) of choice and drizzle with olive oil.

Pop in the oven on a pizza tray, have a quick shower and dinner is ready. A green salad and wine are optional extra's.
Always good

Saturday @ Goma

I went to a lecture at Goma yesterday and saw the Eugene von Guerard exhibition. I have been meaning to see this all summer but because of my fall in January I haven't been going out very much at all.

I did enjoy it. I also saw Yayoi Kusama's exhibition. I didn't have time to see it when I last visited the gallery.

This was the first thing I saw

A Glamorous Fashion Night

The event I attended at the Conrad Treasury Hotel last night was very glamorous. It was a warm night but out side on the grass with a string quartet, french champagne and peking duck pancakes as a canapé
all was right with the world.
Beautiful fashion

Stunning jewellery

Lovely music
Flowers at the entrance to the marquee

The dessert buffet was amazing

More interesting finds

Brisbane has changed so much over recent years. We still don't have the variety of shops and exotic items of Sydney and Melbourne let alone Europe, but we are getting there.

I appreciate eBay and internet shopping, but I love to discover things, and to touch and feel them.

I found these recently.
Lovely old French books
Antique French house numbers
4 of these for $540, I have the Ikea version $18 each 20 years ago

Saturday Morning at Wooloongabba Antiques Centre

Wooloongabba Antiques centre is a great place for a little wander and good coffee on a Saturday morning. Some times there is a Jazz band playing otherwise there is very good retro music.

There is always a good fun vibe, especially with the young couples looking for vintage decorating items.

So many things bring back memories and make me smile.

I wonder what happened to ours
Love the lizard on the handle

$80 for a pair of net curtains
I had yellow curtains exactly like this in Belgrave Street in the late 70's. They cost about $15, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to afford them
Very 50's
