Another new gem in 'The Hood'

On my walk last Sunday morning I found another new shop on my way home. Tucked up behind some other old shop fronts in Monmouth Street.
The sign
50's chair
We have a chair like this in our garage that our old cat Rexi sleeps on during the day. It is placed so that the sun shines on him to keep him warm in the winter. This one is priced at $75. Expensive cat chair.
Recycled denim
Note books
These are actually note books made from recycled paper. Some of the covers are old Golden Books, and some are paper patterns. The actually patterns are still in the packets, so that the cover has a padded effect.
There is a craft room being decorated now that will hold regular classes. I do hope that this is successful - the owner is so lovely.

New in our neighbourhood

There is an old building on Hawthorne Road that housed a garage since 1902. In fact at one point we lived next door to the owner in the early 70's.
It is now a fabulous, deli, grocer (with wonderful exotic food), coffee shop etc etc. A wonderful addition to our area.

I walked down to investigate last Sunday was was very pleasantly surprised.
The flowers are lovely - of course
Signage
Fruit and veg
Range of Persian goodies
Fabulous gift ideas
Good coffee
I am very pleased that it was very busy, and the staff very friendly.

National Lamington Day

Jonelle and I visit Old Government House on National Lamington Day. We did a tour of the public rooms. This lovely chandelier was designed to represent the golden wattle tree the floral symbol of Queensland.
Great chandelier
I loved this carpet

This great carpet was designed to represent Queensland. I just loved the black crows. We have so many of them around our house. I find them fascinating. I love they way they really look you in the eye.
After the tour we had coffee and laming tons in the dining room.
